IT"S MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!  I"M NOT A TEEN ANYMORE!!!  WOOHOO!!!!

Saturday, August 12, 2006

So much has changed I don't even know what to say.  I just miss home.  But I know God has a reason for all of this...and probably a lesson too.  And in His timing I'll find out what that is.  Until then...I'll do my best to live my life and make the best decisions I can...even if they are hard to make.

What now???

Sunday, July 30, 2006

Life is truly a gift.  Today was a wake up call to that concept.  I was at work today going about my normal routine.  Target was having a great day in sales and it was a fairly good day at work.  And then it started.  Our undercover security guard came to me and asked for my walkie.  I heard him call our manager to the front of the store.  When she came up he showed her something outside and then we heard her call another manager to the front of the store.  Then the cops arrived.  The yellow caution tape you see at a crime scene was placed all around our store and several of the stores on the same strip.  Guests started getting worried and asking us if it was safe to leave the store.  At this time I did not know much so I proceeded to tell them  yes, everything was fine.  Eventually I learned that there was a package outside that was suspicious and thought to be a bomb.  So...we made an overhead announcement for the guests to know what was going on.  Up until then we had been letting guests leave but not letting anyone in.  But when it was announced that there was a potential bomb threat the cops would not let anyone to their cars that were inside the yellow caution tape.  Some of our guests had parked on that side of the parking lot and so they could not leave the building.  We were also made to stay in the store.  The bomb squad eventually came and had to run through their procedures.  Meanwhile, myself and my fellow team members were wondering why in the world we were not asked to leave the building.  If the bomb squad figured out ok this is a real bomb and we only have 5 minutes until it goes off then none of us would have made it out alive.  I wanted to just leave while i had the chance.  But they wouldn't let us. We had to turn off our walkies and cellphones and make sure all the guests had their walkies and cell phones off.  Any electronic device could set it off if it were real.  Well...eventually they told us that the bomb squad had taken care of it and everything was fine and to go back to normal.  We never found out if it was a real bomb and they detonated it or if they just took it away or if it was just a prank.  But...I'm hoping it was just a prank.  Now the cops are on the lookout for the culprit.  But this experience made me realize how much I take life for granted.  God has given me every breath I take and has blessed me with wonderful friends and family that I was worried I would never see again.  My first thought went to Doug.  I didn't want to die without telling him I love him one last time.  I also didn't want to die in red and khaki!!  haha.  just kidding.  But seriously, I am truly grateful for the life that God has given me and the friends he has so graciously blessed me with.  I love you all so much.  Embrace life.

Well...nvm about my last post.  Circumstances have changed and I don't need to tell them anything now.  That sucks.
